How to Use:

How to Use:
This Oil Cleanser can be used daily on some skin types, or as a weekly or bi-weekly deep cleansing ritual. Dispense 3-4 pumps onto dry fingertips and apply to dry skin. Massage well for 1-5 minutes around congested areas and makeup. Apply a warm, steamy towel to the skin and gently wipe away dirt, makeup, and excess oil. Support Cleanser: Cool Relief is a calming, gel-like emulsion that gently removes daily pollutants, excess oil, makeup and sunscreen, and effectively detoxifies congested or breakout prone skin. This non-foaming and non-stripping facial cleanser is ideal to soothe red, irritated, or inflamed skin.
This Cleanser is feather-light with an instant cooling effect on inflamed, acneic skin. It is also ideal for sun damaged skin or reactive skin in need of soothing support, while still encouraging detox and decongesting. It combines multiple Chamomile varieties, Calendula, Licorice, Lavender, and raw Honey all for calming in order to promote optimal skin health. Inflammation should always be the first symptom addressed in any situation where the skin is in a state of stress. The light oils of Sunflower and Safflower are our favorites for dissolving blackheads and oxidized sebum in pores. This gentle manual Almond Rose Exfoliant: Hydrating Nutrients doubles as an intensely hydrating and nourishment-rich mask. Soft grains remove dull, surface skin cells while roots and petals provide hydration, vitamins, and antioxidants to reveal a dewy glow.
This dual Exfoliant/Mask is an unsung hero of the Laurel Skin line. Those who have found a place for it in their slow beauty ritual know its efficacy is worth its usage learning curve. The combination of Oats and Almonds provide water-based nutrients like B Vitamins and oil-based nutrients like Vitamin E, both essential for a healthy skin barrier. While most manual exfoliants can be too harsh for delicate facial skin, Almonds and Oats are the opposite; both of them are incredibly soft, making this exfoliant far gentler to all skin types than chemical or enzymatic exfoliants.
Marshmallow Root acts as a super hydrator by mimicking the hyaluronic acid in our own skin. How to Use:
Quick Exfoliant: Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of Almond Rose Exfoliant in with your cleanser for an exfoliating cleanse. To use as a quick exfoliant alone moisten face and hands. Place 1/2 teaspoon in the palm and trickle in a few more drops of water. Massage and exfoliate over the skin and rinse. Use 1-3x per week.
Exfoliating Hydration Mask: Put 1 teaspoon or less Almond Rose Exfoliant into a small dish. Using approximately twice as much water as Mask, trickle in a bit of water with your fingers until it is a runny paste. Allow the Mask to steep and thicken for a few minutes. The nutrients will activate and the Mask will thicken into a rich oatmeal consistency. Pat and massage onto skin to exfoliate. Leave on for 10-20 minutes, keeping the mask hydrated with water throughout. The longer the mask is left on the more frequently it will need to be rehydrated to stay active. Rehydrate it with a wet mask brush, wet fingertips, a mister bottle of water, or steam from bath or shower. For removal, rinse off the mask with water and follow with Elixir and Serum.

The Honey Berry Mask: Enzymatic Glow has dense superfood ingredients that contain whole fruit acids, enzymes and antioxidants, making it a true multitasker. This Mask acts as a brightening enzymatic exfoliator, a hydrator that visibly plumps and firms the skin, and an antioxidant-rich feast for an overall healthy glow. How to Use:
Moisten face and hands. Apply 1 teaspoon or less of Honey Berry Mask to fingertips, then glide and massage over damp clean skin. Leave for 10-30 minutes, then rinse.
If your Honey Berry Mask has solidified or contains what looks like grains of sugar, that is normal raw honey crystallization. Crystalized honey is not intended to be used as a manual scrub, which would be harsh on facial skin. Take a scoop of 1 tsp or less and warm it in your fingers until it softens, then gently pat onto dry skin, in a style often referred to as “honey tapping“. Once applied evenly, add water and use normally. You can also place your entire enclosed jar of Honey Berry Mask in a hot water bath which will soften and liquify the honey.

Each of our Single Farm Hydrosols are artisan distilled on the same farm where it is grown. Much like an estate wine or a single garden tea, it is rare for a hydrosol to come from a single farm, and even rarer to be distilled on the same land by the same human hands who planted its seeds.
These hydrosols are not byproducts of essential oil making; instead, they are distilled for the purpose of creating a whole hydrosol that encompasses the full expression of the plant, including the plant's soul essence and energy. We love Rose for the multitude of benefits it provides for our skin, which you can read more about on our blog post about them. Roses are incredible for hydration, barrier repair, antioxidant activity, as well as plumping and firming the skin – to name a few things! However, most of us are not aware that Rose is a beauty crop that is incredibly vulnerable to forced labor, unethical treatment, and unfair wages.
Rose distillery houses are big business in Bulgaria, but the Roses themselves are farmed and harvested by small farmers. Unfair wages and unethical treatment of farm workers is not an isolated concern to the USA – this is something to be aware of for Bulgaria also. Bulgarian Rose prices remain incredibly low despite the long hours and intense labor conditions, and these low prices point to unethical practices. While the Fair Trade Organization has a good message, they most certainly are not staffed to keep up or ensure fair treatment for all. As a company, Laurel Skin is responsible for close to 4 tons of fresh Rose petals annually, and we have been working on cultivating a source for California grown Roses for nearly a decade. While we haven’t yet been able to completely free ourselves from all the Bulgarian Rose supply concerns, we are thrilled to be able to offer this California sourced hydrosol in limited quantities. While this single-farmed, artisan-distilled hydrosol is no doubt more expensive than its Bulgarian counterparts, here is what you are supporting with your purchase:
– The moral understanding that this is what Rose petal distillations cost, if not more. Our farmers are paid for their time and labor fairly. We are doing our best to raise awareness in the industry toward more ethical labor standards, and this is a part of that effort.
– The essential oil has not been removed from this distillation, ensuring potency and efficacy. One drop of Rose essential oil contains 60 roses, and is valued close to $40 per ml. You will feel the superior hydration from this rare type of distillation.
– The scent of this California Rose hydrosol smells fresher—like a rose garden after a rain, and less like an intensely floral perfume. The scent is more well-rounded and slightly herbaceous. Earthy notes can be picked up alongside the intoxicating scent of rose petals.

How to Use:

The Unburden Serum: Deep Tranquility is a concentrated moisturizer, treatment serum, and elemental defense oil in one. Its name comes from its ability to support all skin functions by lifting the burden of inflammation, the root cause of all secondary skin symptoms. The Day Balm is a waterless, lightweight moisturizer that effortlessly melts into the skin. The Unburden Serum: Deep Tranquility is a concentrated moisturizer, treatment serum, and elemental defense oil in one. Its name comes from its ability to support all skin functions by lifting the burden of inflammation, the root cause of all secondary skin symptoms. Secondary skin symptoms include, but are not limited to acne, rosacea, redness, broken capillaries, excessive dryness, loss of elasticity, and even hyperpigmentation. The ratio of lipid oils in this particular Serum is quite different from our other Serums, making this one of our richer and more moisturizing Serums. The oils in the Unburden Serum are all centered around their anti-inflammatory ability. Soothing and calming, while still raw and unrefined, Evening Primrose, Jojoba and Tamanu are blended together to be gentle enough for any arising skin concern. How to Use:
For best results, apply Sun Body Oil to the body before and after time spent in the sun. When in full sun exposure for longer periods of time, reapply this product approximately 1x per hour. Each person’s skin is unique, and timing will differ for individuals. If this product is used in addition to a Zinc-based sunscreen, then the oil should be applied to the skin first, followed by the sunscreen afterwards.
It is important to keep in mind that organic oils do not work in the same way as physical zinc blocks or FDA-approved sunscreens. They work by providing antioxidant support and reducing inflammation. They enhance our skin’s ability to maintain good health while in the sun. There are a multitude of factors that determine how an individual’s skin responds to the sun in a positive or negative way. When exploring this alternative to sun care it is important to know your body, health and skin well. Act with discernment, body wisdom and intuition.

The Recovery Balm has become a cult favorite in the Laurel Skin line, one that has earned its rightful place in any medicine cabinet.
It can be used as a helpful remedy for practically any skin ailment from extreme dryness, eczema, perioral dermatitis, painful cystic acne, sensitive allergy-prone skin to the occasional cut, scrape, bug bite, or rash. This multi-functional balm reduces the appearance of redness, swelling, and irritation while offering up a therapeutic dose of whole plant goodness to jump-start and support the skin’s own healing process. In addition to being a family and household staple, this Balm is also a beloved facial moisturizer for inflamed, reactive skin or for those with considerable health concerns or sensitivities.
Tamanu Oil is the foundation and star of this formula. This vibrant green oil is what gives our Recovery Balm its color, along with its ability to correct microbial imbalances, reduce inflammation and create an overall environment for healing. Like most of our Laurel Skin formulas, this Balm contains a 3-month whole plant infusion. Calendula, Comfrey and Yarrow are all skin-healing herbs that support new cell growth and regeneration. The microdosed essential oils in Recovery Balm are Lavender, Helichrysum and Lemon Balm; each with a unique relationship to microbiome and skin, included to balance and repair.
How to Use:
Apply a very small amount (about 1/4 of a pea size) to face, neck, and chest after applying Elixir and Serum. This product can also be used on the body as often as needed. If using as a body moisturizer or body healing treatment, this can be aided with the use of a Hydrosol.

If your Balm melts in transit, it could have textural changes that make it less smooth. While this does not affect product performance, a smooth Balm texture is often more desirable. If you would like to restore your Balm’s texture, follow the instructions in this video. Do not leave your Balm in a hot location like your car or near a sunny window.

How to Use:
To use as a cleanser: dispense 3-4 pumps onto fingertips and apply to dry skin. Massage well around congested areas and makeup. Apply a warm towel to skin and gently wipe away dirt, makeup, and excess oil.
To use as a moisturizer: Apply 1 pump to fingertips and press gently into clean damp skin.
